We had our boat lifted and various work done to it in February 2012 before we set off.  All of the work was done to a very high standard and the prices were reasonable thanks to the watch full eye and excellent negotiation of Marco from Palma Maritime.  The yard is run by three brothers: Manolo - the owner and boss, Carlos - metal work and mechanics & Raffa - lifting, antifouling, painting and general hull work.  I dealt mainly with Carlos and Raffa, leaving Marco to deal with Manolo as he didn't seem quite as friendly as his two younger brothers!  Both Carlos and Raffa are very friendly, are always smiling and have great senses of humor!

Raffa and his team lifted her with delicate precision and got straight to work on the first of three new coats of antifoul.  When they were finished she looked too good to put back in the water!  See photo's here.

Carlos is one of those rare finds that you wish you could have access to when ever you had engine problems or need some metal work done!  He firstly set about servicing our outboard which we had had some issues with due to lack of use.  I was eagerly peering over his shoulder trying to gleam any in sight in to the servicing techniques, he was in credibly patient and when way above showing me how every last little thing worked and answering all of my questions, he even stopped working on it while i have to go and deal with something else for an hour so that i wouldn't miss anything!  He also made our anchor platesolar mounting bars and antenna pole.  This is where he really gets to show off his skills, we had planned to only be out of the water for 5 days and i sprung all of this work on him when we arrived on the monday, on top of that one of their machines had broken down so nearly all of the work was done by hand, including the bending of the anchor plate which fits perfectly!  If you ever need any steel work done and are anywhere near Mallorca it would be more than worth your while to detour via Mundimar, they have a small amount of berths for boats that are being worked on, but there is plenty of room in Portals Marina.  However be warned that Portals Marina is very expensive and the staff don't have the most helpful attitude.

All works at Mundimar can be arrange through Palma Maritime.
